On the one of the hands, this Quentin Tarantino movie, the Inglourious Basterds is the loathsome and pernicious celebration of fantasy violence. On the other of the hands, it is very entertaining.
Inglorious Basterds is the best revenge fantasy ever. I’m not one for violent movies and had to watch a few scenes from behind my fingers. But I left that movie very happy. I guess when “loathsome and pernicious” violence is applied to deserving people (and not college coeds), a celebration may indeed be in order.
