Cold Blooded

Paulina Porizkova, Spoiled Milk

Manolo says, people in the fashion business, they are so nice!

The real fun, though, was in the ladies’ room. I walked in and almost straight into Anna Wintour. “Hi, Anna,” I said brightly to Anna’s mirror reflection. Her large eyes in her large head flickered. And with the slightest nod, one that may have been a twitch, she left me standing at the sinks. I admit I felt a bit more than slighted, I was after all, on quite a few covers of her magazine, and the glance she gave me is one I’d give to an expired carton of milk. I am aware my expiration date (as a model) is long past, but a slight acknowledgment that I wasn’t the bathroom attendant would have been nice.

Clearly, this cannot be Anna Wintour, as there is no way Paulina Porizkova could have seen Ms. Nosferatu’s reflection in the mirror.

Paulina Porizkova comes off as very gracious and likable in that column. And that is a beautiful photo you posted of her!

I too have bumped into Anna Wintour at the Lincoln Center. We were both in the gift shop. We arrived at the cashier line at the same time, she let me go first. OK I am going out on limb here and defend Ms. Nosferta a bit …In my 30 second assessment of her personality she came off sort of shy and introverted. She was beautifully dressed and she looks fantastic … not plastic surgery at all. If I am right maybe she is more introverted than snobby. Paula seemed a little insecure in the article. Anna has been in the business for a long time and has seen lots of models come and go maybe she really didn’t totally recognize Paula.

I don’t think Paulina came off as insecure- she showed that anybody, even celebrities, can be vulnerable. Very good article!
