Green Shoes for the Earth Day!
Manolo says, it is the Earth Day, so you should be celebrating Gaia by wearing beautiful green shoes.
…such as these ecologically correct Vine Ankle Wrap Sandals from our Maestro Manolo Blahnik.
With these on your feets, you would be the very image of beautiful Flora, Roman goddess of nature. And we would sing to you in the honorific words of Ovid: Mater, ades, florum, ludis celebranda iocosis!.. Mother of Flowers, come closer, so that we may honor you with joyful games!

Look at that loverly ankle strap!
As a classicist of decades past – ah, the prep school and college years, the NDC is inordinately pleased that the Manolo quotes from the Odes (I assume that is the source). I remember carrying around a slim volume of the Odes for Latin homework back in *ahem* 1967.
And the NDC remembers the First Earth Day when she was a friskier, earnest collegian in Ann Arbor, though in 1970, she did not wear footwear of today’s selection’s loveliness. The heel of today’s Blahniks remind me of the dark green patent, kitten heel sandals my late mother bought in Italy in 1963 (passed on to me decades later, footwear sentiment), that would do justice to this day of hommage to our planet.
Lovely! The leaves on the ankle straps remind me a little of those gorgeous gold Prada sandals you posted back in 2008.
I love the ankle straps, but the flower design is banal. It doesn’t go with the rest of the shoe. I agree with La Petite Acadienne about the leaves on the ankle straps–those beautiful gold Prada sandals, which I purchased, sprang immediately to mind.
The Manolo loves these Blahnik sandals, however, he concedes that the Prada Corallo Oro sandals were spectacular….

Few shoes (and certainly no other flat sandals) have ever been as beautiful as these.
True. Those sandals were veritable works of art.
earth day?? you’re recommending kidskin leather for earth day? Seriously, how clueless are you?
