I’m less worried about heels sinking into grass than I am about those candlesticks placed on hay bales. Perhaps Ms. Kelly might accessorize her Gatsbyesque ensemble with an elegant fire extinguisher.

That was my worry as well, Rubiatonta. Having just suffered through a lovely brunch at a rustic venue where I was much too delicately shod, I would add that mincing about in unsuitable shoes makes one feel quite silly, ill at ease, and unable to fully appreciate the event and the beauty of the setting in which it is held.

I would advise Kelly to phone the venue directly and query an experienced female staff person regarding the types of flooring at the event. Catching a heel in a knothole might ruin her day, not to mention a fantastic pair of shoes!

Those are lovely shoes indeed, but when one is traipsing from oriental carpet to oriental carpet, is it not possible that one’s heels will sink hopelessly into the grass?
