A true classic.
First concert I ever went to was Mungo Jerry and Edison Lighthouse. Very nostalgic.
“If her Daddy’s rich, take her out for a meal,
If her Daddy’s poor, just-a do what you feel’.
As soon as I was old enough to understand the rampant misogyny of this I developed a deep loathing for this track, and became a life-long Feminist-with-a-capital-F. So yeah, thanks Mungo!
Also, get those darn sideburns trimmed. They’re not big, they’re not clever and they make you look like a$$.
With the sideburns and mustaches, the entire group is sort of proto-hipster (except for the Wolfman Jack-a-like on the keyboards).
Is the group proto-hipster or are hipsters just retro-Mungo?
