Pretty sure I saw a pair of old converse with rusted eyelets, frayed laces and dye (or dirt) spattered soles that looked almost identical in the neighbor’s trash last week. I should have rescued them and saved myself a couple thousand dollars.

It reminds me of the $1K+ distressed t-shirt that had everyone scoffing a few years ago. Like that shirt, my pet rats could do the same thing to a pair of Chucks in a weekend.

So curious that the rich want to take on the style of the poor, be all ironic like that, make people think they value old things but without really having to do it. I don’t care if they want to spend their money this way, really don’t. But that’s what it is.

If my mother saw those things, she’d throw them in the washer and reduce their ‘value’ by $1,950.
