Project Runway: Hooray for the Jay

Manolo says, the Manolo he has few comments about the grande finale of the this evening.

The Wendy. Eehh. Yes, she was nasty, and yes, she was partially redeemed this week. But ultimately, who really cares? She is, as the Micheal Kors says, the very talented tailor. And that is the extent of her abilities as the designer.

The Kara Saun. By the end of the next to last of the episodes, the Kara Saun she had begun to annoy the Manolo. This trend it reached the apogee tonight, and the Manolo he began to actively dislike the Kara Saun. But worse than her irritating qualities, however, was that the stated inspiration for her clothes–the movie the Aviator–it was trite, and more than a little silly. Of the course, this justification it was no accident. The Kara Saun she is the Hollywood costume designer, and so she has designed a collection of costumey clothes for the movie that has already been made.

The Jay Hooray for the Jay! Two weeks ago, the he praised the work of the Jay as “thoughtful and original”, and this judgement it was reaffirmed again this evening. Again, the clothes they were not all to the taste of the Manolo (although he did enjoy two or three of the pieces, especially the final dress), but the entire collection it was the work of a singular, intelligent, if untrained vision. Who knows if this it will translate into the long term success.

The Shoes As the Manolo he could have told you, and as the Kara Saun she knows, the shoes they are so very important. As the Micheal Kors said, the accessories they can make or break the show (and the look). Of the course, if you are the regular reader of the Manolo this it is not the big news. It is to the credit of the Kara Saun that she knew this. It is not to the credit of the Kara Saun that she tried to cheat.

Finally, and unusually for the reality television, the nicest and the most talented person came out the winner. How often does this happen?

Prada in Milan

Manolo says, over at the the Manolo he has begun to post some of the pictures (along with the Manolo’s commentary) from the Miuccia’s fall fashion show in the Milan today.

Of the course, more it will follow over the next several days, as this show it is digested and evaluated by the Manolo.

The Shoes of the Vegan

Manolo says, one of the Manolo’s many internet friends she has asked the Manolo the question.

The shoes you point out, they are indeed super-fantastic, but can you help the vegetarians of the world to find super-fantastic shoes, too?

Manolo says, this it is one of the more difficult questions for the Manolo to answer, for the Manolo he truly loves the leather. He loves the look of the leather, he loves the texture of the leather, he loves the smell of the new leather, and above all he loves the way the leather it makes the most beautiful shoes.

But, the Manolo he also loves his many internet friends, and he tries to help them however odd their desires they might be.

If the friend of the Manolo she is indeed interested in the shoes of the couture, then he would advice his friend to look at the shoes of the Stella McCartney. She does not use the leather.

Manolo says, this shoe from the Stella not only is it made out of the cloth and the plastic and the rubber, but it is also quite stylish.

The same it can be said of this sandal below.

Even the belts and the gloves of the Stella McCartney they are not made of the leather.

Manolo says for the person who would avoid the leather, yet who still wishes to look good, the options they are indeed limited.

Prada at the Sam’s Clubs?

Manolo says, here is the article that it sounds too ridiculous to be true.

My name is Aime Palmer, and I am a sucker for wholesale goods. Sam’s Club is my mecca — but not just for those fab mini quiches and the fresh salsa I serve at every other party.

My Waterford crystal? Sam’s. My Stag’s Leap Merlot? Sam’s. My Prada wallet? Sam’s.

They also generally carry Fendi and Prada handbags and small goods, Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses, Ferragamo and Dooney & Bourke accessories and designer fragrances (not to mention loads of bling bling) at prices seriously lower than department stores.

My Prada wallet? $154. Not very frugal, I know. But -ista in my dictionary means getting it for more than $50 less than average department store prices, a phenomenon that makes me all warm and tingly inside.

Manolo shouts, Ayyyyyyyy! The Apocalypse, she is upon us!

The Vera Wang and Her Leggings

The Vera Wang and Her Leggings

Manolo says, here is the picture of the Vera Wang. As you can see she dresses as so many of the designers of the fashion they do, in the costume of the nearly all black.

The Manolo he does not approve of this.

To the Manolo the designer she is saying that her clothes they they are not capable of the wearing by the people of the everydayness, or if one is not the super model thin.

In the fact, the Vera Wang she designs the beautiful garments, and the Vera herself she is the cutie. So why must she adopt this atrocious downtown style, with the hideous leggings, no of the less?

Yes, this outfit it is functional, and no of the doubt comfortable, but it is not flattering to the Vera.

Here again, we must take as our muse the Miuccia, who is not afraid to wear her own creations to the shows of the fashion.

Miuccia is our muse!Miuccia is our muse!Miuccia is our muse!

Manolo says, the Miuccia she is our muse!

Fashion Week!

Manolo says, ayyyyy, the New York Fashion Week it is upon us!

This, of the course, is one of the many reasons why the Manolo he has not written many of the posts the past few days. The Fashion Week it is the busy time for the Manolo.

However, the Manolo he will offer the few tidbits for your delection.

If you, like the Manolo, are obsessed with the Project Runway, here is a link from the Miu Miu Von Furstenburg, that shows the pictures from the fashion show of the three finalists, along with the speculation about who the three they might be.

Here for your enjoyment is the picture of the Carolina Herrera and a table full of the super fantastic shoes of the Other Manolo.
Super Fantastic!

Finally, the Manolo he gives you the link to the website for the fashion week.

The Boots of the Prada

Manolo says, it is no secret that the Manolo he loves the Prada. Nor would it be the secret that the Manolo he loved these boots from the Prada at the first sight.

The Compare and the Contrast

The Lips of Doom!

Manolo says, here is the tragic picture of the Donatella Versace.

The Donatella, she has everything. She designs the beautiful clothes, she is wealthy, she has maintained her figure in the excellent condition, and the dress she is wearing it is stunning, but the mania for the plastic surgery it has begun to turn her face into the grotesquerie.

Manolo says, yes, sometimes the plastic surgery it perhaps necessary, but the results to be strived for should be subtle and natural, a tiny nip here, a little tuck there.

For the comparison, look at our muse, the Miuccia.

Adorable!Adorable!

Yes, the Miuccia, her face it is not traditionally beautiful, and undoubtedly she has had the tiny nip and the little tuck, but because she has not meddled with the basic structure of her very Italian, very handsome face, she is more compelling than the Donatella, who is fighting the process of the aging with the tooth and the nail and the collagen.

Manolo says, because the beauty it is found in the state of naturalness, the trick to aging with the grace is to work with the nature, not to try to overthrow it. Nothing it is more ridiculous and tragic than the woman of the advanced years who is attempting to look like the teenager. (viz. Cher, Cher, and Cher)

The Miuccis Is Our Muse

Miuccia T-Shirt

Manolo says, to celebrate both the genius of the Miuccia and the successful first week of the Manolo’s Prada Blog, the Manolo he has comissioned the commemorative t-shirt, (and the mug, and the other style of the t-shirt, and so forth).
