Manolo says, it has taken the Manolo the better part of six months, but he is finally beginning to see the worth and beauty in this curvy heel trend which was fully exploited by the Miuccia Prada on the runway last year.

This shoe above, the soft suede sandal with the curvy heels from the Donna Karan is one of the best of exemplars of this trend. It is quite pretty in its way, and the Manolo now begins to see what all of the fuss was about.

Manolo says, here is the Manolo’s latest column for the Express of the Washington Post.

Dear Manolo,

I know how you feel about there being no season for white shoes, but what about suede? Can I wear a suede sandal year-round?

Gigi

Manolo says, suede in the morning, suede in the evening, suede in the summer time.

The Manolo loves the suede; it is one of his favorite materials for the less than formal shoes. Durable, tactile, frequently luxurious, often beautiful, this is suede at its best.

Yes, it is true, some peoples who live in the distant past of white gloves and pinkie-sticking-out tea parties believe that suede is suitable only for the fall and winter, that it is roughly the inverse of the white shoes, which supposedly may only be worn in the summer.

To these peoples the Manolo says, “if the shoe looks good, wear it.”

As for his friend’s question about the suitability of wearing the suede sandals around the year, the Manolo can only say, use your best judgment. If one lives in Miami or Los Angeles, it is fine, but if one resides in International Falls, Minnesota, you may wish to see if your health care coverage includes “fashion-inflicted frostbite” before leaving the house in mid-January.

Look, here are the gorgeous buff-colored suede sandals from Donna Karan.

Manolo says, here is the Manolo’s latest column for the Express of the Washington Post.

Dear Manolo,

My husband has informed me that we will be going to his company’s holiday party this year, and that I should “dress up”. I’m thinking a new pair of shoes will ease my psychic pain. Please help.

Judith

Manolo says, it is time again for the annual corporate holiday party, when we all gather in the office park near the airport, at the Marriott Towne Centre Suburban Chain Hotel Function Room.

Look! They have decorated!

There is the magnificent Christmas tree that the ladies from marketing have decked with the leftover corporate logo key chains. See how they sparkle in the light cast from the menorah Morty in accounting has brought from home.

Ayyyyy! They have even included the festive wiccan pentacle out of consideration for the stout girl who wears the black nail polish, what is her name?

No, no. The new name.

That is it! Astreal Ravenscroft!

Truly the spirit of the solstice season is upon us!

Of the course, you would be wise to dress up in your holiday finest, as one of the traditions will be when your spouse forces you to meet the boss’s boss, the exalted semi-divine personage who’s very gaze, legend has it, can scald interns to death.

When the moment of meeting arrives, these black suede shoes with the gold trim from the DKNY, they will make you appear statuesque and stylish, the perfect companion for the rising corporate star.

Manolo says, the Manolo’s column in the Express of the Washington Post it is now available for the downloading. This week’s topic, it is the not boring shoes for the super fantastic professional girl.

Dear Manolo,

The new year is almost here, and I’ve resolved to be more fabulous in my choice of footwear for the coming year, especially for what I wear to work. I’m an accountant, so I need lots of help.

Susan

Manolo says, Every year, the Manolo he makes the same resolutions he has always made, to be ever more super fantastic than he was in the preceeding year. This it is not easy, especially as the Manolo he has grown into the age of the middle, when the battle against the forces of nature must be fully engaged.

However, this it does not mean you should not make the valiant attempt to achieve super fantasticness, even if, unlike the Manolo, you toil in the professions that are perhaps not known for their fabulousness.

Indeed, the problem for those in the occupations of respectablitiy, such as the accountants and the lawyers, it is that you must maintain the gravitas suitable to the job, so that the clients they will not be frightened away by your taste for the avant garde.

Sadly, the hot pink Puccis on the accountant they do not make the smiles in the person facing the IRS audit.

And so, the Manolo he must counsel his seriously-employed friend to express her office-based super fantasticness with the shoes that are conservative in style and color, but have the luxuriousness of the first-rate material and workmanship,

Manolo says, here from the Donna Karan is the suede, lots of the suede. This color it is called “mulberry”, which appears to the Manolo to be some sort of the very deep, dark, appealing green, although it is also available in the black.

It is exactly the sort of thing the smart girl she would wear in the evenings during the late autumn, perhaps for dining at the La Goulue after the stroll up Madison Avenue from the galleries.

Even the better, the dinner it could be her treat, as this boot is on the sale, 51% off of the usual price, the savings of over $300 of the American dollars!
