I received The Consolation of the Shoes last week.  I read it in one sitting, on the subway from the Bronx to the Brooklyn.  I loved it!

As the Manolo is clearly versed in literature of the Middle Ages and beyond, I wonder whether he has ever thought of posting about literary shoes--such as those delightful boots worn by Hero in the poem "Hero and Leander"?

Hello to the Kate.  This is actually the good idea.  Naturally, has the very large collection of the shoe quotes saved in his notebooks, so perhaps it is time to begin to put them to the good use on the shoe blog.
