As the Manolo so accurately pointed out, this is the year of the fetish shoe, and indeed, fetish fashion. What are your opinions on the spiky shoes, the platforms, the stilettos?

I am a Domme (or dominatrix in the popular parlance) in the local BDSM scene, and so I love how these fashions look - but I don't like that they're making their way out of the clubs. Perhaps it's elitism on my part, but I like being part of an "underground", and seeing icons of my lifestyle in the mainstream is unsettling.

Also IMO, there's a difference between what's appropriate for the dungeon and what's appropriate for the office or red carpet. (But that's another issue.)

So, I'd like to hear everyone's opinions on this trend. Am I being sensitive? A snob? Are fetish fashions ugly no matter where they are? Do you love the fashion but hate the fetish?
