For these sneakers, I wanted to create an outfit that was really simple and comfortable -- something you could wear for a long day of walking around. And I'm not ready to even start thinking about fall yet, so I went with a summer look.

I chose this top because I think it goes really well with the shoes, the bangles because they are fantastic, and the silver necklace to pick up on the silver accents on the bag. And I mixed some budget pieces with some designer items.

Alas, I initially felt the Manolo had betrayed me with a choice of sneakers when I have just managed to mature enough to abandon them for regular wear!  This calls for desperate measures—we must go on vacation in order to make best use of our sneaker-ness.  We’ll be traveling around Rome and the surrounding countryside on a sunny summer day taking pictures, visiting little churches (sleeves are a must!), having much gelato, and wandering down picturesque little streets.  This whole outfit has been designed around travel, so (re)wearability, simplicity, and comfort are key.  The dress and shoes are monochromatic, so I picked up the color in this cute, practical bag for all the accessories and added a little anklet for sparkle.  Enjoy!

The simple, sassy dress (undo a button or two):

The cute (yet practical) bag:

Mandatory sunglasses:

Bracelet:

Some fun but subtle earrings:

Hydration:

Sunscreen--I'm a pale girl!:

An anklet for some sparkle:

And the cute shoes that will save our feet, in dark chocolate:

[Dress--Target; Bag--Via Spiga (Bluefly); Jewelry--Overstock; Shades/Water Bottle--Amazon; Sunscreen--Clinique.]

This sporty, carefree, and charmingly oddball young woman says these are the perfect shoes for wandering around downtown, stopping to do a bit of work at a coffee shop, and maybe stroll around the local campus looking at the young hot things.

It's an easy outfit, so I don't want to gunk it up with a lot of jewelry, just a simple watch (always must know what time it is), sunglasses to keep the eyes from squinting (ban the thought of crow's feet), and a nice weathered leather messenger bag for the laptop and some reading.

Add a denim jacket to fight the cool crisp autumn air and we are good to go.

I envision these shoes on a fine young lady enjoying the amusement park with her cohorts.  They are perfectly suited to walking long distances on paved thoroughfares and riding all manner of exciting roller coasters.  The accompanying attire must be youthful and practical.  We shall begin at the top and work our way down to the shoes.

We begin with the sunglasses, The Oakley head-gripping style prevents loss in the loop-the-loops while providing excellent protection from the sun's vicious rays.

The earrings are simple coral studs, colored to match the laces of our eventual shoe selection.

The top provides a delicious mix of comfort and youthful frivolity.

The pants complement the soles of the shoes beautifully while providing sufficient pocket space for cash, ID, and cell phone, all any truly happy girl needs on a day at the amusement park.

Well, maybe she need a watch too,

and lastly, of course, come the shoes in the medium gray color.

Hopefully I've only embarrassed myself minimally.

My very first Build the Outfit!

I am a plus-sized gal from Texas and I like shopping on a budget... so I decided to build an outfit I would buy and wear proudly in the Texas heat.  I love the orange color and decided to build around that, plus add in some accessories that go along with my laid-back style.

Top: Old Navy Women's Plus Ruffled Top in Oxygen, 24.50.

Bottom: Old Navy Women's Plus Linen Capris in Kimchi Orange, on sale for 19.99.

Bag: Palm leaf tote bag by easyedges at Etsy.com, 20.00.

Sunglasses: Target Mossimo Plastic Figure-Eight Sunglasses, 16.99.

Earrings: My bronze-ish dangly earrings that I got at Target about six years ago.

Bracelet: Target Xhilaration Green Bangle Bracelet, 7.99.

Necklace: Green Turquoise and Bronze Pearl Necklace by TwoCatStudio at Etsy.com, 32.00.

Shoes: Tsubo Zibal in Creme/Camel/Tangerine.

It is early fall.  A university student in Paris has just finished an evening dance lesson at a studio a short metro ride from her apartment.  She leaves on her leotard

(capezio at dancewearsolutions.com)

and opaque gray tights

(DKNY at Nordstrom’s)

and throws on the casual gray dress she wore to the lesson

(Romeo & Juliet Couture at Bluefly).

The autumn nights are growing chilly, so she throws a scarf around her neck

(Missoni at net-a-porter).

She takes off her slippers and puts them in her bag, capacious enough to hold her dancewear and a few other of the necessities of life

(Latico at bagsbuy.com)

and at last the hard-working feet are rewarded – slipped into the Tsubo Zibal shoes, light and fleet enough to catch the departing train, winking just a little at passers-by with their deep color, just visible under the streetlights.

First time for everything... although I have no idea how I can even think to compete with the wonderful things I have seen from everyone else. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained.
As a college student, the Tsubo's Zibals would be great for the trek across campus. So here's something easy to put together for class while avoiding that awful and all-too-commonplace faux pas of wearing pj's (blech).
The TopBea Yuk Mui Sleeveless Top
The PantsJill J. Newport Pants
The ShoesTsubo Zibal in Putty/Red
The Watch3H Italia Watch
The BagL. L. Bean Microfiber Tote Bag

I didn't add jewelry because between the polka-dots of the top and the greatness of the shoes, the outfit really speaks for itself.
A watch is a necessity on campus. Can't be late!
The tote bag works well as a purse, but mostly the size is perfect for books and notebooks for class. The Green Mist in the bag works well with the subtle stripes in the shoe:

Creating this outfit makes me want to go shopping... *sigh* Alas, the poor college student... she is poor.

These shoes look like something I would go to school in every day.

To start things off, a simple tank:

If it gets cold, wear this cardigan:

Some great skinny jeans to show off those long legs:

A semi-large bag to fit all of your stuff in:

Some cute earrings and a headband that match perfectly:

And of course, the adorable little comfy shoes int he burnt orange and red color combo:

My first time (please be gentle Smiley )! I thought a whimsical on-campus look would fit the shoe. Something that could take me from Chem lab to a coffeehouse with no problem. Your favorite jeans from your closet would complete the look.

Lux Icon Hooded Tunic in Blue $48.00 from Urban Outfitters

I love the antique feel of this necklace mixed with all the colors.

Grandpa's Pocket Watch Necklace $28.00 from Urban Outfitters

I really loved the color of the purple sneakers, and I found a funky necklace that matched so I built my outfit around those two pieces.

(just the dress. no leggings)

Necklace: Antica Murrina Veneziana (www.forzieri.com)
Dress: Urban Outfitters
Sweater: Gap
Socks: Sock Dreams (www.sock-dreams.com)
Bag: Oakley Swivel Purse in Violet (www.zappos.com)

A much tougher challenge I think!! I'm almost envisioning an urban environment, like our Pearl District or Northwest, where the wearer is meeting up with her friend for a quick bite and then it's off to shop every store in the area.

Shades from Juicy

Hoodie from American Eagle

Tee from Lucy

Trousers from American Eagle

Bag from Coach (image is probably huge, oh well)

These are surely some of the most fashionable active shoes.
