The Manolo asks, what sort of outfit would you put together using these shoes as the basis?

Leave your reply here in this thread and at the end of the week, on Friday, the Manolo will pick one of the replies at random and award the Zappos gift certificate worth $100 of the American dollars!

Please, only one entry per person.

So here's the deal: these shoes are so close to being over the top that they need little action lest they become tacky, costumey, and move from cute straight to kitschy. Therefore, it is my sage wisdom that they be the focus piece of the outfit. The rest of the ensemble should be simple, casual, and yet still fun and with a metallic sheen to it. So I would pair those shoes with a skirt like this fun one http://www.shop.com/op/~Grace_Dane_Lewis_Petite_Brown_Full_A_line_Skirt-prod-41820178-55440482?sourceid=298
and a nice blouse like this one
http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2934679?Category=&Search=True&SearchType=keywordsearch&keyword=green+blouse+in+All+Categories&origin=searchresults
that has an interesting shape and subtle detailing.
To touch it off, I would add some golden bangles like these
http://standardstyle.com/ProductDetails.aspx?productID=46962
and these fun, tongue in cheek earrings
http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=18020&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=337&iMainCat=332
And voila! There's a fun summer outfit!

How about a simple white A-line mini with colored scarf? Snip off the cap sleeves and go for a more summery boat neckline. This would ensure that all eyes are where they should be...on the shoes! Hats optional.

These shoes are really big, chunky, colorful and nonetheless beautiful. Therefore it is a piece that can stand out on its own, so I recommend that we put it in a glass case and ship it to the nearest art museum. Kidding! Okay, every shoe needs a complement, but this work of art (is it cubist? impressionist with its BOLD colors? i don't know) should be the stand-out in the fashion equation.

First, style this with the sister of all basics, the Little White Dress. This takes a color from the shoe strap and provides a fitting backdrop to the artwork, i mean, the shoe.

This LWD is from Twelfth St. by Cynthia Vincent (http://www.ssense.com/product.php?id=1689)

To accessorise, we need items that take a color from the shoe's palette. This is to maintain the bold color scheme at the same time to "de-bore" the outfit. (I mean white only? Pfft.)

Add these chunky orange bangles on for a pop of color to the arm (this will contrast great with the bag later on)
 (from http://www.plasticfantastic.com/search.cgi?find=OPB&title=Other+Plastic+Bracelets)

Then pile on this crazy Marni necklace from a woman The Sartorialist shot (photographed!) in New York

with this gold rain-chain necklace from Jewel by Bear. The gold in this will break the kitsch factor and up the glam! (http://www.couturecandy.com/jewel-by-bear/gold-chain-necklace/product.html)

Top off with these graphic print earrings! (http://www.estatejewelryinternational.com/catalog/item/1711121/3912953.htm):

Need a bag?

This bag from Carlos Falchi might just do the trick. (http://www.purseblog.com/hobos/carlos-falchi-nubuck-tall-hobo/)

Hope I did justice to the Zanottis! Ciao!

I think the shoes are over the top and beg for an over the top outfit.  I'd never wear anything like this, but I can picture someone young and hip choosing a bright turquoise sundress and wearing a bright yellow necklaceconsisting of big beads.  Bangle bracelets, varying in width, in yellow, turquoise and orange[/color] would pull it all together, and a pair of yellowhoops would complete the jewelry.  Anything this over the top would also need a large bag or tote, preferably in a geometric print with white accents.

No one would miss an entrance in this outfit!! :

What comes instantly to mind has already been said: little white dress.

Though I didn't really like the shoes in the first place, I think that outfit would look great.
No accessories, no hat, simple is best. And the dress only costs 40 of the European Euros!

Oof. With that pricetag? for those shoes? I'd go vintage...

I think that what has been previously stated - stay understated - is best, but anyone who would wear such a shoe is invariably loud.  Therefore, this dress:

paired with the fabulous white summer handbag

and topped off with the simple barette

might go for the loud-but-stylish woman who loves the orange and looks good in it.
(All from Bluefly.com, in case you really want the orange dress for yourself.)

White linen wide leg trousers (lined, of course, for modesty)
turquoise tank, in raw silk (fitted but slightly flowy, for air circulation)
Large straw hat
Straw handbag, with stripes in colors the same as the shoes
Necklace of silver with a coral pendant
silver hoop earrings
silver, coral and turquoise bangles
Bahamian sunshine
Margarita on the rocks, with salt
Cabana boy

Mmmmm...

I'd keep it simple: slim white pique knee-length skirt, white eyelet wrap blouse, bold turquoise jewelry, silver hoop earrings, giant sunglasses.

I always find that my pant leg gets caught under the heel of my foot when I wear mules or slides so I'd only wear these with a dress or shorts.

Wow, these shoes are close to being hideous, but there's something there that stops them.

I like them with these shorts from Tory Burch found at Saks.com:

This top from Rachel Pally at bluebee.com:

This necklace from jenniferfishernyc.com:

These Missoni sunglasses from neimanmarcus.com:

This wood/pearl/resin ring from isharya.com:

I love the brilliant turquoise found on the heel.  I would go with this top from Tufi Duek

Paired with a comfortable short:

And an orange-to-die-for tote:

The darkish pink color picks up on the darkest color in the shoes; this tones down the loudness of the shoes while playing up the bright, happy colors.

The dress is from Wallis.
(Props to Catwalk Queen, where I saw it this morning)

The bag is by Francesco Biasia, thru Nordstrom's.

Fun! I like this game!  Grin

With those Chunky heels I think they would be nice with jeans and a baby doll white dress.
