I would want to play up the color in the shoes by using similar, but perhaps more subtle colors.

Dress: Sparkle & Fade Racerback Slip in Lime from Urban Outfitters, but I would substitute the dark undergarment with a white one.

http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopping/product/detailmain.jsp?itemID=30099&itemType=PRODUCT&iMainCat=10&iSubCat=15&iProductID=30099

Bangles: Mining Town Bangles from Anthropologie, in orange

http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=17438&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=339&iMainCat=332

Earrings: Dinosaur Designs, sub heading 'Collections', 'Resign Jewelry', the Butterfly Inlay, preferably in yellow.

http://www.dinosaurdesigns.com/

And Bag: Cole Haan, Village Soft Collection, Bangle Pouch in 'Ivory'

Hmm.  The shoes are somewhat over the top, so simple classic lines are a must.  I wouldn't go with a skirt, but with a wide-legged white pant like this one from Anthropologie:

Top the pants with a simple summer top that picks up on one of the colors in the shoe:

Add this Catherine Rapetti silver leather hobo bag:

Accessorize with simple silver hoops and a chunky clear lucite necklace:

The shoes are now the quirky highlight of a lovely summer outfit!

Actually, on review this is very similar to an outfit described but not pictured on the first page.
Super fantastic minds think alike, I guess.  Also I think I'm the second to grab that turquoise top!

These shoes are loud.  LOUD.  Sheesh, couldn't you have picked something a little easier for this first go-round?!

I think I'm gonna have to go with this great Robert Rodriguez dress

Finish it off with black mascara, soft, heathy cheek color, and either a red or bright coral lip stain w/clear gloss or an opaque bright red/coral lipstick, blotted to matteness (you choose, depending on your personality).  No jewelery; just well-done, off-the-face hair.  Or if you MUST do jewelery, maybe a small pair of 8mm gold ball studs.  And a ginormous jangly charm anklet.  (Just kidding on that last item.)

Echoing what others have said before, it's probably best to stay relatively simple with the rest of the outfit.  Of course the weather being what it is (at last!) and the fact that I just finished final exams means I'm all for going a little crazy in general as well as with colors right now.

The dress is from Kara Janx and the bracelet is from Anthropologie.  I love the idea of an orange tote, but being the frugal student I am (I could never afford the rest of the stuff!) I'd suggest my old personal standby of a simple canvas bag from the Strand bookstore.

I admit that it's a bit matchy, but sometimes a girl just can't help herself  Smiley

So, I'm seeing basic dress and accessories - all a bit off and sleek, sort of like the shoes.
Fairly thick double strap gold headband:

White dress with some volume towards the shoes to work with how heavy they are

Thin gold and a colorful ring - but both fitted to the finger (no jewels or anything, straight lines)

And, of course, The Shoes In Question

Below-the-knee turquoise shirtdress with square pockets.
Orange-green-and-white Mondrian-pattern belt with a large white plastic buckle
Lozenge-shaped opaque orange glass bead necklace to break up the squares.

Unlike everyone else, my choice for bottoms is black capris: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=239269&CategoryID=7904&LinkType=EverGreen like these.

A nice top: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=237889&CategoryID=20985 like this.

And some simple earrings: http://www1.macys.com/catalog/product/index.ognc?ID=18925&CategoryID=21235&LinkType=EverGreen like such.

But the general consensus is simple is better with funky shoes.  Clearly, we all have excellent taste. Grin

Since it already feels like summer where I live, I would wear these shoes with my all-white, eyelet sun-dress.

Then I would accessorize with my chunky turquoise jewelry.

Finally, I would carry my oversize straw tote bag with white fabric top and silver bangles.

This is such a fun, casual shoe!  I had shoes with a nearly identical color palette when I was in second grade.  One of the older girls on my street said they were the ugliest shoes she had ever seen, but she was woefully blind to the super-fantasticity of those shoes.

For these,  a light-wash denim capri:

A top that is white but not boring:

Fabulous necklace:

Simple earrings:

Smashing bag for another big fun splash of color:

I'm a grad student, so we'll just have to pretend that my fairy godmother gave me those fabulous shoes.

I'd go fun and easy with a casual dress, matching a very inexpensive piece with haute couture:

http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/ref=cm_reviews_dp_seemore/601-7099310-0008948?ie=UTF8&coliid=&frombrowse=1&alt%5Fview=custReviews&asin=B000N8JTF6#R30K3106O9T7XP

The neck and other features play off of the geometric features on the platforms and let the shoes take the spotlight.

For a little added color, one that would echo the orange and pinky-red in the shoe, I'd wear the scarf that my fairy godmother gifted me tied around my head like a hairband:

Slightly bohemian, young, but I think it works.

These shoes are quite "mod."

If *I* were to wear them, I'd pair them with a white dress as described above.

But if I were more daring, I'd pair it with this little yellow number and go ALL OUT for the late 1960's London look:

http://www.edressme.com/dresses1665.html

Add this lucite bracelet:
http://www.shoplastyle.com/tier/index.asp?SKU=TAR535

And some liquid eyeliner, false eyelashes and voila!

One would need quite a superfantastic attitude to carry off the outfit.

I think the best thing to do with these shoes is leave them in the shop. However if one has one's heart set. I would say there is no way to go lightly with shoes as bold as this. Something just as bold to the point of distraction is needed along with a strong enough personality to pull it off.  I think going with white would only draw your attention more to these shoes. Work with those huge color blocks as close to the colors as you can manage and the shoes will blend in. Likewise I think smooth fabrics would only draw your eye more to the shoes. So I chose something close to the bright colors and textures that can stand up to the texture the shoes have of the straps riveted to them. I like that the top picks up some of the orange in the skirt and the skirt in turn also has some of the turquoise and red from the shoes. Definitely a bohemian look but what else can you do with shoes that look like the Partridge Family bus.
