The best part of the Beacon menu is at the very bottom where it says,
“Please refrain from cell phone use while in the restaurant.”
Sounds great! Next time I visit Los Angeles, I may have to dine there just out of gratitude.

The Nancy is reading her emails from A Word a Day (http://wordsmith.org), which is dedicating this week to words about shoes. Monday: “calced” (pronounced “kalst”) = “wearing shoes.” Tuesday: “slipshod” = careless; original meaning: wearing loose shoes or slippers. Great quote at the end of today’s email: “Our incomes are like our shoes; if too small, they gall and pinch us; but if too large, they cause us to stumble and to trip.” -John Locke, philosopher (1632-1704)
