Dearest Manolo,
Perhaps you’ve already addressed this but could you please inform your vast readership about the horrendous affliction scene in these photos. While this person has contracted a less severe case she none the less suffers from toe overhang! Her Ladyship cannot abide this hideous malady. Where does it come from, in fact? Is it vanity that leads one to buy a sandal 2 sizes smaller simply because it’s possible to cram ones hoof into it or is it the strain of a zaftig figure testing the limits of elasticity in tiny leather straps? Sandal time is upon us now would be the perfect time to do your part to stamp out this plague.

i think its tyra banks… not cos i recognise her feet or anything but cosof the floor in one ofthe pictures… it looks like the floor in one of the judging rooms on americas next top model!!

I agree with Lady Prisspott. Toe hang is not a good look for anyone. Also, those black sandals with the ankle bracelet strap will give me nightmares tonight. They look positively blue light special. Whoever this is (I’m thinking Tyra) I’m sure she can afford better.

I really don’t know about Tyra Banks, but crowd mentality makes me say that’s whose shoes they are, even though my inner shoe muse says Halle Berry. Ha! Could it be the wonderful Iman? Where is Iman these days, anyway? Oh, well, I’ll say Tyra Banks.

I agree Toe Hang is a bad look, and should be avoided. However, I can understand how it happens, not necessarily related to vanity. I’m unsure what size shoe Miss Tyra wears, but I’m sure it’s looong. Wearing an 11 myself, I can testify that it’s often difficult to find pretty shoes in 11 or 12. Naturally, she has access to EVERYTHING, and this should not be an issue, but one can often be tempted by the siren call of the sexy, one-size-down sandal, if it’s the only size available. As my feets are also super-narrow, I often resort to buying size 10 sandals*, all the while exercising great care to procure as proper a fit as possible. No pinching or Toe Hang is acceptable. We only get one pair of the feets and they should be well-cared-for.
*Is there a commonly-held belief among shoemakers that, if one’s feets are longer than a size 10, they must also be WIDE? Maybe Miss Tyra suffers this woe, also?
