I’m thoroughly intrigued. What can it mean? Considering that the historical tradition of foot binding to keep women’s feet as tiny as possible was a Chinese custom, what can this fascination with giant shoes be about? Retaliatory over- compensation? Or is it a Freudian displacement/inversion in a male fantasy of sorts?
