The 9/9 Truther Movement

Manolo says, one brave individual, armed only with the video editing sofware and too much time on his hands, has come forward to challenge the orthodoxy regarding the disastrous events of 9/9/2007…

It was the boots what done it!

P.S. One of the Seven Deadly Sins…Rock and Roll Sloth

Ok. Maybe there was a mishap with her boots-cute by the way. However, this poor child needs to take some time out and get her life together.

  2. De Anza Says:

ya know, if that was the case, why hasn’t dear Brit just ’splain it to the world (most of us have lost faith in her already-unfortunately)? If she wants to make a sincere comeback effort and the sloppy footwork is, in fact, due to a broken heel, well then fess up!! No prob. I do suspect her horrible performance has to do with more than just a broken heel… Regardless, I am a firm believer in honesty; come clean Britney; you’ll have better odds with your rapidly dwindling fan base. (not that I am or ever was a fan)

  3. Gingerbread Muffin Says:

Broken Shmoken. The girl made a right fool of herself and it had nothing to do with THAT heel.

  4. Isay Says:

Not that I am a Brit fan, but I believe in being fair and frankly, as soon as Kevin Federline became the “best parent” in that household, I was really pulling for her to turn it around. I agree with De and say that Brit should come clean about this. I think some people would look at it as an excuse, but the video does pretty clearly show the heel broken.

Might win her a brief reprieve with the press. Doesn’t change that she didn’t know the words, but it DOES go far in explaining the lackluster performance in general.

  5. Chaser Says:

Bah! Who made these substandard bootses?

  6. Goway Says:

The heel couldn’t take the excess weight? :-)

Seriously, I was watching ‘The Tenth Victim’ with Ursula Andress last night and she wasn’t any thinner than Britney in this vid, and looked DAMN GOOD. We’ve really lost our minds as to female perfection.

And why do we demand such a physical ideal from vacuous celebrities and yet increasingly give our ever-fattening asses a pass?

  7. yousuckhard Says:

That hell was just too skinny and that girl was just too not, it never broke or came loose, she just wasnt used to dancing in them for so long

  8. Nabushi Says:

… aaaaaand there was a second gunman in the book depository.

  9. jonjon Says:

Maybe those boots weren’t made for dancing, but if she had put down the bottle long enough to rehearse she would have found that out before the performance.

  10. Victor Says:

No, no! The second gunman was in the boot depository! (ba-dum!)

I’m surprised no one commented on her hair. It looks as if she tried to dye it herself, then changed her mind.

  11. jj Says:

As a dancer, you should *always* rehearse with the shoes you’ll be dancing in. Whether the heel broke or not, she looked unsteady on them, and that’s unprofessional… better to wear a lower heel and dance well, than a high unsteady one and look wasted and awkward.

And Victor, that’s a wig. Or extensions. Remember, she shaved her head a few months back.

  12. De Anza Says:

Nabushi and Victor… I laughed very hard…. thank you.

  13. Christie Says:

There may be some truthiness to it. Imagine how ridiculed she would have been if she said her heel broke. Who didn’t make fun of Janet for her ‘wardrobe malfunction’ or Tara Reid for her boob coming out of her dress.

If it is indeed true, it’s almost better that she let it go and move on. It may have been the smartest PR move she’s made in a loooooooong time.

  14. Nora Says:

Showing a video of her stumbling does not prove her heel broke. I think it more likely was unsteady on the shoes and falling over herself because she was drunk/stoned and completely unprepared.

  15. wannabe Says:

Ayiyyyy — the heel it caused the most unsightly jiggle! And the forgetfulness of the words? And the most terrible choice of costume? And the total lack of star attitude! My, what an evil pair of shoes. The Manolo needs a new tag — Shoes That Do Evil.
