The Fake Manolo
Manolo says, ayyyyyyy! There is the fake Manolo pretending to be the real Manolo at the website of the KABC providing the advice of the fashion without the license.
Yes, it is flattering that someone would chose to imitate the Manolo, but at the same of the time, it is somewhat disconcerting.
All the Manolo–the real Manolo–he can say is “accept not the substitute”.

That’s just sad. Why copy someone else when you can be your own person?
blackbird 19 years ago
I plan on remaining here and only here.
sandyg 19 years ago
Wouldn’t go anywhere else, Manolo! Once you’ve met the real thing, substitutes just won’t do! :-)
the stella 19 years ago
The Stella she is very sad for the Manolo. Steeling is not fashionable.
enygma 19 years ago
I read through a couple of the posts and I’m pretty sure your loyal readers won’t get fooled. You have different styles of speech, so to speak. Also, the fake one put up a link to this site so you may get more traffic.
some girl 19 years ago
The some girl is tres confused. The Manolo faker is neither convincing in speech pattern nor advice. The Manolo true has not a thing about which to worry.
The Scarlett 19 years ago
I think the superfantastic Manolo is more worried about the readers of the fake Manolo (or the ‘Manfauxlo’) that aren’t familiar with his shoe blog. They may read his inferior advice and wonder, ‘what is all the hype about?’ without taking to time to read the real thing.
The Manfauxlo is pure evil. He must be stopped!
Tania 19 years ago
Amazing–Manolo knockoffs have begun to proliferate.
Dragonfly 19 years ago
The Manfauxlo also cannot spell, while the real Manolo can. These things matter to some of us.
Fausta 19 years ago
The Manolo, he’s the one, he’s the only!

The Scarlett, she is the clever one; “Manfauxlo”!
Tia Nieve 19 years ago
Manfauxlo! Quel horreur!
The Tia Nieve wishes she could make italics like the Scarlett!
Melinda 19 years ago
Now I must know from the words of *The* Manolo of the “super fantastic” and the one and only…
What is your position on blue nail polish for a pedicure?
The “Manfauxlo” (nice name) must be ignored.
Spirit Fingers 19 years ago
This is a worse problem than the counterfeit trade in designer goods!
Mimi 19 years ago
Yes, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery…but this? The Mimi echoes the cry of the Manolo: Ayyyyyyyyy!
Hats off to the Scarlet for coining the term Manfauxlo!
desertwind 19 years ago
How bizarre (and quel creepy!).
(I don’t suppose you can copyrite in this sort of situation, but maybe you can contact KABC?)
La BellaDonna 19 years ago
La BellaDonna, she salutes the Scarlett’s cleverness, and has written ABC’s General Manager regarding her disapproval of ABC’s support of the fraudulent Manfauxlo (and assuring ABC that ABC’s support of the fraud would garner web-wide disapproval thereof).
For the Tia Nieve, if she wishes to make the italics, she should type: words to be italicized rest of dialogue. Where La BellaDonna has typed the additional spaces between the ” and “”, the Tia Nieve should type without spaces. These symbols will instruct the computer to italicize, then turn off the italics.
La BellaDonna 19 years ago
Arrrrgh! The computer declines to allow La BellaDonna to share! All right. The Tia Nieve, she should type the href, which is above her comma key, the letter “i”, and the href above her period key. This will open the italic command. When the italicized words are done, the Tia Nieve should type the href, which is above her comma key, the slash below her question mark key (thus: / ), the letter “i”, and the href above her period key. This will close the italic command.

you know, the manolo on this website is NOT THE Manolo of shoe fame and lists as such but certainly “borrows” from the fame and personality of the real MANOLO.
now, the 3rd generation Manolo is not giving credit to his master, nor claming his fraudlent status.
but it does give one pause about how to borrow and build upon in a proper manner.
anonymous 19 years ago
my meaning, that THIS MANOLO of the SHOE BLOGS does it properly…
dowdydiva 19 years ago
Melinda says:
“What is your position on blue nail polish for a pedicure?”
I am not the most knowledgeable Manolo, but I think it is a superfantastic idea. In fact, I am getting one with blue polish to match my bridesmaid dress for a wedding this weekend. In for a penny, in for a pound, I always say.

Insufferable!
Tia Nieve 19 years ago
The Tia will attempt the italics:
LaBellaDonna is most gracious. The Tia hopes it worked.
Tia Nieve 19 years ago
The Tia, she has made the italics, but the Tia could not turn the italics off.
The Tia will try again. Ah, I hope that does it.

Brava to LaDonnabella!

I just love the people that comment on this blog. I feel like I’m hangin’ with my peeps. You guys are great! :)
Flaurella 19 years ago
The NOIVE! The fake Manola, he shall not be tolerated. There is only one true Manolo and I remain loyal. Just remember, everyone else they wish to be The Manolo. The temptation is great but The Manolo talent is secure. It cannot be duplicated.

A Confession And Apology
Not only can he not spell, he is without any sense of the style of the super fantastic one. But at least now, the others, they will know, accept not the substitute.

could the fake Manolo be the work of, dare I speak its name, . . .
THE LAGERFELD????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Manolo, the real. The fake Manolo has provided a massive service to those of the other board. The fake Manolo brought your blog to my and many other peoples’ attention. We love this blog. It makes us happy and laugh uncontrollably. The fake Manolo is not trying to steal your thunder or shoe territory. It wouldn’t be possible anyway. The fake Manolo includes links to your blog and attributes to you at every turn.
Why, oh why, are you mad at the fake Manolo?
We don’t go to the fake Manolo to look for comments.
Please reconsider you angryiness towards the fake Manolo.
Please.
Also, start posting over there and you will sucked into massive tiara-dom and fawningness. It would be too cool.

The panties, they appear to be in a wad. Please to fix as this is both uncomfortable, and of the bad fashion.
desertwind 19 years ago
Yes, the Manfauxlo is posting on the “bored”.
Learn to spell, stranger!
Anonymous 19 years ago
Actually, on the KABC site, it actually says “bored.” I’m really confused.
littlebeast13 19 years ago
This is pretty hilarious…. you guys have no clue how our “Bored” works.
I sure hope the real Pat Summerall hasn’t been peeking in on us….

In a perfect world, everyone would have their own Manolos. Not all Manolos are perfect for each person. You have to find your fit and the Manolo that suits you the best. I enjoy the bored Manolo and the blog Manolo.
saucycat 19 years ago
AYYYYY eh! The pseudo Manolo is to the Real Manolo of the shoe blog as Rich Little is to Jack Benny. Extremely amusing, but understood to be an imitation.
La BellaDonna 19 years ago
Ah! The happy, civilized resolution! La BellaDonna makes the note to herself: Try to restrain overprotective angry outbursts in future. (This is the very funny, because La BellaDonna, she will promptly lose the note. La BellaDonna has the overprotective impulses when she perceives what she sees to be the injustice. It is just the way that it is.)
La Donnabella! Ha! The Tia Nieve, she makes the funny! And now the Tia Nieve, she can substitute the letter “b” for the letter “i,” and make the bold comment, bolded!
Keith A 19 years ago
Ridiculous! Unbelievable!
Mimi 19 years ago
La BellaDonna, the Mimi can completely relate to what you have written about yourself, for she shares many of the same tendencies. …And life goes on.
Cat 19 years ago
The Cat, she will now attempt to make the italics. She is new to the Manolo’s blog as of this week, but she loves it. She hopes that worked.
She will now attempt to make the bold letters. Doo bee doo bee dooooooo Did it work, she wonders?
Cat 19 years ago
Woohooo! The Cat, she thanks the La BellaDonna. :)
