This is Sad

Here is the depressing photo of the Donatella Versace, the woman who has so much, and yet still feels the intense need to carve her face into the simalacrum of beauty.

The Manolo he does not mind the occasional nip or the little tuck, this it is not bad, but the grand attempt to turn back the hands of the time, or the desire to remake the features of the perfectly attractive face, it is disturbing and suggests the sadness and insecurity at the core of the person’s being.

The Manolo, he prefers one who is content to work with what the nature has given, who understands that symmetry is frequently overrated, who knows that old is not ugly.

If, like the Manolo, you are the gourmand who enjoys reading the books about the food and the cooking, then it is certainly for you. Even the better, not only is it the good read, but it is written by the Manolo’s literary agent and friend, the Micheal Psaltis and his twin brother the Chef Doug.

Bargains, Franco Sarto, Shoes

Franco Sarto for the Poor Girls

Manolo says, many of the Manolo’s internet friends have been again emailing the Manolo, begging, “Manolo, please to help us, we are the poor girls who have no moneys but who need the super fantastic shoes!”

As always, the Manolo he would tell the poor girls to save the moneys carefully so that they may be able to purchase the true shoes of super fantasticness. Nothing can compare to this.

However, at the same of the time, the Manolo he knows what it is like to be poor, so poor that you must fashion your own super fantastic shoes out of the prison blankets and second-hand suits you have purchased for pennies at the store of thriftyness.

And so the Manolo he has selected three pairs of the autumnal shoes from the Franco Sarto that will hold the poor working girl until she is able to afford something wonderful.

Not only are the shoes of the round toes comfortable, but they are this season in.

The colors of this shoe, the Manolo he found them appealing. And like many of the shoes of the Franco Sarto these they are strongly reminscent of the good shoes of the Bruno Magli, only executed in the China, with the inferior materials, and poor quality workmanship. (One gets what one pays for, which is why one should save the moneys and buy quality.)

Here is another of the shoes of that would be good for the stylish working girl, perhaps the poor, just-starting-out professional who wishes to impress the hunky young FedEx man.

The Awards of the Emmy

Manolo says, many of the Manolo’s internet friends have been asking the Manolo for his opinion of the show of the awards of the Emmys and the clothing of the famosos who were there.

In the word…meh.

The show and the clothes they were so boring, that only the few minutes could be managed before the Manlo he felt it necessary to flip the channel in the hopes of finding more entertaining fare, perhaps like this.

Yes, there were the few who were willing to entertain us with their awful fashion. Such as this sad girl, who was screaming for the attention.

No, the Manolo he does not know who this person is, nor why she was invited to the Emmys, nor even why she is dressing like the Pompeiian prostitute, but such were the pickings of slimness at the Emmys that this pitiable person would nearly merit our attention.

And so the Manolo he has not the report to give to his many loyal internet friends. But trust the Manolo, you did not miss much.

Manolo says, despite the misadventures with the Tupperwear, the shoes of the Cynthia Rowley they are usually worth the wearing.

For the example, the Manolo he saw yesterday this shoe in the black on the foot of the super fantastic girl in the cashmere sweater and the a-line skirt. It was the smart retro look, one that would stand out at the office, yet still be perfectly demure.

Fashion Week: Bland is the New Black

Manolo says, it is the fahion week in the big city, and the Manolo he is the very busy man. However, many of the Manolo’s internet friends they have been doing the exemplary coverage of the shows and the clothes.

The Barney’s Girl and the Herrod’s Girl they have been analyzing several of the shows, including that of the Marc Jacobs.

Lera the Fashion Addict notes that the trends for the spring they are the beige, the empire waists, and the short shorts.

The Bunnyshop she is bored with this season. (And here the Manolo he must partly agree. Beige?)

The Fashionologie she also says that bland is the word. Although, like the Manolo, she gives the qualified props to the Project Alabama, but not to the Marc Jacobs soundtrack.

The Brittney Ancell, until she saw the spring-colored show of the Temperly she was “worried that everyone was going to be walking around in ill-fitted, neutral-hued clothing next year.”

The Girls at the Papier, they expend much energy getting into the shows, so as to be amazed by the Diane von Furstenberg.

And, finally, you must vist the Fashion Tribe, as they are podcasting the fashion shows! Even the better, if you listen to the podcasts you will see why they make the Manolo laugh with their sassy-bad-selves. Listen to them talking about the Zac Posen, and you will be swept up by their jejune enthusiasms for the fashion. They are indeed most amusing and most charming, even if the clothes this season are not.

UPDATE: The Final Fashion has many pictures of the shows, and she agrees with the Manolo that the Alexandre Herchcovitch collection is this seasons worst.
