Sneakers for the Dentist to Be
Manolo says, one of the Manolo’s internet friends has asked the Manolo the question.
Dear Manolo,
I have quite a challenge for you. I am currently a full time dental student and as required as part of my clinical uniform I must wear frighteningly disgusting seafoam green scrubs. White sneakers are also part of the uniform. Can you suggest a pair of all white sneakers (with non-colored logos) that are stylish and functional for every day?
Sincerely,
Usually in Heels
Ayyyyy! The dull conformity of the working day uniform, how the Manolo hopes that when you become the lady dentist you shall eshew such blandness in favor of the color and style.
If the money were no object the Manolo would put you in these marvelous silvery sneaks from the J.P. Tod’s.
Beautiful, no?
However, since you are the poor student, busily racking up the gigantic student loans, the Manolo would recommend something lest likely to rupture your bank.
Here is the Dynamis from the Lacoste. Yes, it has the tiny little lettering in the color “tomatine” low on the shoe, but otherwise it is white and stylish.
Besides, such silly rules as this were meant to be ignored.

It is quite possible that the aimlessjoys will require the JP Tod’s sooner or later–since her favorite summer white jazz oxfords have been sadly decimated & permanently street & grass-stained by traipsing around pursuing the aimlessjoys’ favorite lollygagging spots around the world & here at home. They look so wonderful & will reflect light & make the journey brighter, I feel sure! Thanks for mentioning them.

Because high cost in sneakers rarely signals a higher quality shoe, MissV would also like to recommend the affordable, cute, and quite comfortable Skechers mary jane…

Are you sure you can’t allow the Dansko clog here? They’re less professional than a SNEAKER?

… yes, I’m with the Dansko white clog also. I’m recovering from my fourth foot surgery in 5 years. Wear the orthopedic shoes for the standing all day jobs and then you can wear the heels all the rest of the time. Flats, in my opinion cause the very bad plantar fasciitis. Always check out the Taryn Rose shoes as Manolo recommends…worth every penny.

But the Dansko clog is incredibly unattractive.

“Usually in Heels” may want to take note that shoes with mesh fabrics are not the best choice for health care professions. Also, Lacoste makes several sneakers that are similar to the one above but are truly all white–browse around Zappos.
Cheeky is so right about the unattractiveness of the Dansko clog. And the all-white version is the most hideous one of all. Nevertheless, Renee is even more correct about their orthopedic value. I tried a Timberland shoe similar to the Lacoste above, and have concluded that these light, attractive sneakers that are in vogue now simply cannot sustain the foot through an 8-hour shift, not to mention a 12-hour. Medical-wear is generally hideous, so it might as well be accepted that the shoes will be, too.
