She’s fabulous! I was fortunate enough to get to meet her many years ago when she gave a cooking class and signed copies of her marvellous cookbook. http://tinyurl.com/46y5lqy
Nothing like a little Zydeco to get the morning started right!
I saw the Queen at a concert years ago – and she wore this long red dress with beaded fringe all over it and that lady could MOVE! (and needless to say, under the lights, all that beaded fringe went ballistic) The concert was fantastic – there was some guy dancing around in the audience outside (at this venue, they open the back wall for people to sit out on the lawn)all dressed up like a crawfish. Bon Ton Roullet, that’s for sure.
Queen Ida was my introduction to Zydeco many years ago. I played her tape until it snapped. Saw her perform at Jazz Fest one time and she IS the Queen!!

The Manolo saw her perform in the small theater in 1989, and she was most incredible!
