Splash Peep-Toe Pumps from the Christian Louboutin for the Monday
Manolo says, it is Monday and you are back at your desk, and already the Summer of 2011 is fading into the rearview mirror of your life, growing smaller with each passing second.
Of the course, given what the Summer of 2011 was like, this is not necessarily the bad thing.
Indeed, if you could, you would jam your foot down onto the accelerator of the life-mobile, spewing gravel and little chips of asphalt into the face of the Summer of 2011, as you sped away.
But you cannot.
The great tragedy is that life is not the car your can drive from place to place, stopping when the mood strikes you. It is more like the intercity Greyhound that occasionally conveys you through scenes of breath-taking beauty, but more often is stuck for long periods in industrial wastelands, or enormous stretches of poorly made tract homes.
But, you are obliged to do your best while on the trip, by making friends with the fellow passengers, and trying to keep the spirits up.
And, what better way to buoy one spirits than with beautiful shoes, such as these luxurious suede and fox platform peep-toe pumps, the Splash from the Christian Louboutin?

Wow. That’s a pair of seriously expensive shoes I have no desire to own. Even if they were gifted, I have to say. But they might go well with that wasteland you mention, mr Manolo. I’ll pass and let the other ladies fight over this pair…

So wrong, in so many ways…but I love them.

Sorry, The Manolo, but the last time the cat dragged something like that in the house, we had to have it fumigated for rabies.

Really?
Did he take the suede platform pump and just glue a fox on top?

Ack! I came here for lighthearted entertainment and fun shoes and the comments are…not so fun and lighthearted. But the shoes are.
I am trying to figure out where the Greyhound bus of life was for me these past few weeks. Maybe cruising through Topeka, KS. (Somewhere stale, flat and unprofitable. I think Topeka is most likely flat, not sure about the other two.)

Oh, Manolo. Your prose makes my day! Thank you.

Actually, Topeka is really nice.

My first reaction was similar to most of the previous ones: Fugly. Then I looked again and yet again, and I realized very few women would wear that shoe…and those that do wear it would, like Rihanna with the Balenciaga Sports Pump, be able pull it off & look fabulous.
She who dares is superfantastic.

I have an image of a most fabulously legged mom wearing the sleek leather cigarette pants and silk kimono top, who is out on the town wither super fantastic girlfriends, and she wears these as she does the karaoke of “I was made for lovin’ you.”

I should note, all of the above is a *good thing* in the Lisa’s book.

Why is this shoe named “Splash?” I could see “Fluff”, or my personal favorite- “Tribble.”

I fail to see how wearing a wookie on the feet could be an attractive look. yuk

But Manolo, GET OUT OF MY HEAD. Indeed, my Greyhound of the Mind is all of the above and more; inhabited by a gaggle of snaggle-toothed, recently-paroled felons who smell like bordello ashtrays and mumble in their sleep about how “it went off accidental-like!”
I would never wear these shoes in a million years, but I bet the most expensive escort up here in Upper Muskox covets them intensely. At least they gave me a hearty laugh. Now I’m going to look at the Prada Corallo Oro sandals again as a brain refresher. http://raincoaster.com/2008/02/09/what-time-is-it-not-peanut-butter-jelly-time/

I guess anyone who’s going to wear this pair of shoes should have the guts. Anyway it looks fab. Perfect to wear when you’ll be attending fashion shows.
