The Maestro Blogs!
Manolo says, ayyyyyyyy! This is perhaps the most wonderful internet news of all time!!!
FASHION is increasingly turning to the internet for inspiration. Manolo Blahnik has now announced the launch of his website, www.manoloblahnik.com , which he will update regularly with his thoughts, plans and information on store openings, to keep customers in-the-loop with all things feet-chic. “The new site will update Manolo Blahnik aficionados all over the world with his work by highlighting the season’s top shoes and giving an overview of the collection,” says a company spokesperson. The site, which launches this week, will also include a biography of the infamous designer, a comprehensive news section and a listing of all worldwide boutiques. We’ve only got one complaint though, Mr. Blahnik: we can’t snap up your heels online, and we’re hoping this service will be added to the site as soon as possible – so step to it!
When Maestro officially starts his blog, the humble Manolo the Shoeblogger can finally close down his, safe in the knowledge that he has been eclipsed by the superior being.

Surely the Manolo is playing the practical joke on his Internet friends when he says he will shut down his blog. Perish the thought!!! This blog MUST remain operational to ensure the fashion fantasticness and the intellectual and epicurean futures of present and future generations.

Did we suddenly step into a time machine (or jump into doing the Time Warp) and end up on April 1? Surely the Manolo is playing an extremely tardy April Fools joke on us by suggesting this site be shut down?!

Oh no, Manolo…your gentle wit and gracious charm will never be eclipsed by anyone else on the internet. Your shoe-wise words will always remain in style.

The Maestro may, indeed, have a website. But will it include the shoes of the Dolce & Gabbana? The Cole Haan? The many other fabulous designers of the shoe? Will it feature the shoes for the poor girls? The witty and sometimes devastating fashion observations? Will the Hoff make regular appearances? I think not. They apparently don’t even have working links to buy stuff! What’s up with that?
Therefore, the Manolo should rest assured that while the new site will be a wonderful addition to the world of the internet, it will hardly eclipse the Shoe Blog.

What would I ever do here in the wilds of Montana if this blog is shut down!
Please, don’t do it!
I need Manolo to help me stay aware of what is fabulous in the outside world, plus you make me smile.

The humble shoeblogger is having the bit of fun. Do not worry, he is not quitting.
Although, it is difficult to imagine that anyone could be more amusing or have the more definitive opinions about the shoes than the Maestro Manolo Blahnik, thus one suspects that if he does indeed take up the blogging it will render all other shoeblogs, including this one, forever second rate.
Still, the Manolo the Shoeblogger vows to soldier on even if this happens.

Gasp! – no the Manolo the Shoe Blogger?
For a moment we glimpsed the tomorrow of the dowdy womens trudging feetflatted and clodhoppering through our streets like the Moscow of 1957.
