Project Runway 2, The Reunion Show
Manolo says, so boring, so very, very boring.
Indeed, throughout the episode the Manolo kept devising the ways to make the episode more interesting, ways that usually invloved handcuffing the randomly selected designer to the Santino, giving them both the long knives and seeing who emerged the “winner”.
Zulema and Santino…Fight!
Sadly, such hijinx they were not on the menu. In the stead, we the loyal viewers were treated to the blandest of outtakes, and the most self-justifying of blather. Yes, there were the bizarre, uncomfortable moments, such as the goofy Lupe’s drunken ramble, and the Daniel Franco’s creepy crazy-eyed protestation of love to the Heidi, but there was little of the entertainment in that.
The Manolo he did have one other idea for the perfect show of the reality television…Santino and Andrae, The Real Life Odd Couple!
Santino is so delightfully, abrasively self-absorbed (and actually quite funny) and Andrae is perhaps the sweetest, kindest human who has ever walked the earth. Put this pair in the media-bubble safe house in Los Angeles and let the world beat the path to their door!
This week on The Santino and Andrae Show, old pal Tim Gunn pays the visit. Watch the sparks fly!

I was thinking maybe a series called “The Boys of 35D.” I’d watch it!

wouldn’t Andrae, Santino and Tim be another show – Three’s Company?

Can someone remind me again what was Zulema’s alter-ego’s name? All I could think was, that’s ghetto fabulous minus the fabulous. If Zulema had had more talent and won just 1 or 2 more challenge, I’m not sure the producers would’ve needed to keep Santino on for drama! for the whole season.

Her alter ego was called “Shatengi” (sp?). And I loved this episode, actually.

I agree, a total snoozer of an episode…
A word of advice for Santino: Get help, dude. It’s time. You even live in L.A. where nearly *everyone* sees someone for something…I’m sure one of my Hollywood stunt-men friends can refer you to a specialist that treats megalomania…

What is that music? Is it from “Spartacus”? The Norma loves “Spartacus”.

Or maybe it is “Star Trek.” The Norma also loves “Star Trek.” It is one of the two, she is confident.

I have to agree. Not nearly as catty or interesting as I thought it would be.

Love the link!! And, trust the nerd here, that is definitely Star Trek. You should be picturing Wiilliam Shatner rolling around, fighting a giant lizard man with a stone knife. Brilliant!

I think it’s just like any reality show after the 2nd season….the sane people sensor themselves so they won’t look crazy and the not so sane kick it up a notch for more camera time.

For those who need an extra Tim Gunn fix (and who doesn’t?) go to NBCOlympics.com and check out the video section for Tim’s take on figure skating fashions. While he gives gold, silver and bronze to the 3 American women, his take on Irina Slutskaya’s number from the other night is right on point.

Perfection in words!
I think I could get into seeing Andrae on tv every week after PR ends…

What on earth was wrong with Guadelupe? Tourettes? More than too many beers, methinks. The show did give me a smidge of insight on the way Santino thinks. But yes, therapy is a good thing.

The Bz used the new DVR to tape the reunion. What a waste! (The Banana Splits disappointed as well, but that’s another post). Santino is sick – “what I say is meaningless crap, and had to be said, and I don’t take it back, but I am sorry it hurt anyone. The bla, bla, bla. Hateful instead of catty. Catty makes better tv.

I actually loved this episode because they showed stuff that we did not see during the season, like Daniel Franco staging an intervention when Santino was yelling at Nina Garcia.
And I am slightly obsessed with Andrae. I LOVED the clips of him going through revolving doors!
